'Sinful' News

Hey folks. Sinful Thrills is still running

We've taken lots of precautionary measures to ensure that we're following government guidelines to keep our warehouse staff working in a safe environment. This includes:

  • Reducing the number of our people on a shift at any time;
  • Adhering to the 2 metres distancing rule at all times while staff are picking and packing your orders, and also staying 2 metres apart when taking breaks;

The safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance and it's possible that the above measures may have an impact on when your order is delivered.

We ask for your patience and understanding if it's a little later than you would usually expect.

Royal Mail Insurance Claims

We have been advised by Royal Mail that many countries are experiencing extraordinary delays. Heathrow Airport has a back log of parcels that are waiting to depart but due to the lack of planes flying it can take over a week for items to leave the UK.

Royal Mail will not accept requests to open a claim for insurance until 60 days after dispatch until further notice. We have therefore suspended International Postal Options temporarily and urge customers to choose Express delivery options where possible.

Updates

If there is any news that might affect our customers in any way, whether if's locally in our own warehouse, or from our delivery partners, DPD and Royal Mail, you'll find it posted below. We'll update this page as and when we have any news that affects order processing, or the running of our website, in any way.

Thank you, and stay safe.

Royal Mail Price Increases

- Tuesday 16 June, 2020

Royal Mail have advised us they will be temporary adding surcharges on shipments to outside of Europe and a permanent increase to America from the first of July.

The reasons are as follows:-

Last year, the UPU agreed to allow the US to set terminal dues/prices themselves from the 1st of July. This met the US administration’s stated objective – to increase how much they charge other countries for delivery. It averted their threat to leave the global network. It will see a significant increase of over 100% in the rates Royal Mail pay for last mile delivery in the US from the 1st of July.

Royal Mail say that they will have to pass on these costs and will not profit in doing so.

Royal Mail have seen 95% less air passenger flights as a result of Covid-191 and are having to use air freight instead. This is considerably more expensive. It has led to a five-fold increase in conveyance costs to the US following the outbreak of Covid-19. As a business, Royal Mail say that they have absorbed these costs to date. But, from the 1st of July, they are going to recover their best estimate of future conveyance costs in this financial year.

Royal Mail say that they are closely monitoring the cost of conveyance and may reduce prices accordingly in future.

We have been advised these surcharges will be in the region of £3 for parcels going outside of Europe.

American mail is likely to see an increase of £4 per kilo.

Once we know the exact increases we will update the news page accordingly.

Bank Holiday Closure

The number of countries that we can access is changing daily. Most major export routes remain open, and we continue to accept and process mail, although customers may experience varying levels of delay.

Royal Mail Coronavirus Update

- Tuesday 31 March, 2020

The latest update from Royal Mail

Temporary removal of Estimated Delivery Window:

As of Monday 30 March, we have removed the estimated delivery window from our services. We have been monitoring this and given the resourcing issues we currently have within some of our units, we feel unable to accurately predict the delivery window and as such have removed this for the time being.

International Services Country Suspensions

We are working every day with our airline and in country partners across the globe to maintain services. The rapidly changing nature of the impact of Coronavirus means access to countries is changing and the global picture can vary day to day.
Most major export routes remain open and Royal Mail is continuing to accept, process and transport mail out of the UK for delivery across the globe. Most Royal Mail services, including to the USA and many other countries remain operational.
A lack of available air transport to a growing number of countries as authorities restrict the movement of people across borders. In some cases, there is also a suspension of in country postal operations.
As a result we currently have service suspensions in place for 43 countries. The suspensions cover all RM services to these countries and will remain in place until further notice or until we are able to move mail into countries for onward delivery.

The countries are currently affected from 27 March:

Albania
India
South Korea
Armenia
Jamaica
Sri Lanka

Our advice to Customers:

We strongly recommending that you do not send items to these countries for the time being. We at Royal Mail are removing these destinations as options on our own shipping systems.
Items for these destinations already posted will be processed or held, dependent on the availability of outlets to countries.
We continue to update as the situation changes and this remains fluid.

Warehouse Update

- Tuesday 31 March, 2020

Dear customers,

Due to the immense amount of orders received over the weekend, some orders will fall into the 24-hour service level agreement.

This means non DPD or Royal Mail overnight parcels may not be dispatched the same day.

We are currently running on skeleton staffing and appreciate your patience in this time.

International Services Royal Mail Coronavirus Update

- Monday 30 March, 2020

Latest Update from Royal Mail

Please find further information on our International Services;

Key information –
We are working every day with our airline and in country partners across the globe to maintain services. The rapidly changing nature of the impact of Coronavirus means access to countries is changing and the global picture can vary day to day.
It’s important to say that most major export routes remain open and Royal Mail is continuing to accept, process and transport mail out of the UK for delivery across the globe.
However there is a lack of available air transport to a growing number of countries as authorities restrict the movement of people across borders. In some cases, there is also a suspension of in country postal operations. Where this is the case, we are strongly advising our customers against sending items to these destinations, for the time being.
As a result we’re suspending services to 31 countries (listed below). The suspensions cover all the services Royal Mail offers to these individual countries.
These suspensions will remain in place until further notice or until such time as we’re able to move mail into the affected countries for onward delivery.
For context, we know DHL Global Mail suspended services to 47 countries today, including those below but also including others like Australia, China and USA (mail services, not express services affected)

Which countries are currently affected?

Albania
Cuba
Moldova
Sri Lanka
Armenia

Advice to Customers
We’re strongly recommending that customers do not send items to these countries from today and for the time being
Other Royal Mail services, including those to the USA and many other countries remain operational.
Items for these destinations already posted will be processed or held, depending on the availability of outlets to countries.
This advice and links to information will shortly be available online and on our shipping systems. Where possible, we’re also removing these destinations as options on shipping systems.

DPD Coronavirus Update

- Monday 16 March, 2020

From DPD:

DPD continues to implement new plans in response to the Coronavirus situation in the UK following advice issued by HM Government.

New delivery process

With immediate effect, we will no longer ask customers to sign our handheld units and instead our drivers will sign it on their behalf. We will record the consignees name and a 'Delivered on Authority' message in the signature section of the unit.

With this new process you will still get your full track and trace functionality, giving you complete visibility of all your parcels.

This now forms our proof of delivery process for all deliveries until further notice.

Business Continuity Planning (BCP)

This week we are robustly testing our home working operations for key central departments such as Customer Services, Sales, Finance and IT.

These measures will allow us to keep vital areas of our business going and put us in the best position to react effectively in this rapidly changing set of circumstances.

We are also introducing BCP measures into our collection, delivery and sortation operations and we will provide a detailed update tomorrow (18 March).

Royal Mail Coronavirus Update

- Monday 16 March, 2020

From Royal Mail

"We have been working alongside government guidelines and introduced some temporary changes to our operational delivery procedures and collecting of items from a Customer Service Point with regards to customer’s `signing’ to receive their parcels.

The safety, health and wellbeing of our employees, members of the public and the communities in which we operate is paramount. Some elements of public health guidance may change in the coming weeks. We may be required to temporarily update some of our policies and practices. One such change implemented on Saturday are amendments to our Operational Delivery processes for the delivery of any parcels which cannot be posted through a letter box or that requires a signature. This will affect the delivery of 1st and 2nd class parcels and Signed for items, Royal Mail Tracked 24 and 48 items, Special Delivery Guaranteed and Age Verification items. We will no longer be asking customers for signatures, or handing the parcels across to them. Instead, our postmen and women will be practising social distancing, waiting to confirm customers retrieve their parcels from the doorstep securely, and entering alternative confirmation details into PDAs themselves, instead of handing devices and parcels to customers.

Here are our official guidelines on Signing for and receiving items
In order to protect both our people and customers as much as possible, we will not be handing over our hand-held devices to customers to capture signatures. Postmen and women will instead log the name of the person accepting the item. This will apply to all deliveries that require a signature.

Additionally, for all customers (including those who are self-isolating) where we need to deliver any parcel that won’t fit through your letterbox, we will place your item at your door. Having knocked on your door, we will then step aside to a safe distance while you retrieve your item. This will ensure your item is delivered securely rather than being left outside.

If you are unable to come to the door at all we will issue a ‘Something for You’ card, advising of other ways you can arrange to get your item. For example, by getting a friend or family member to collect the parcel from our local Customer Service Point on your behalf. In this situation, and to keep your mail as secure as possible, they will need to bring along the card we left you and a form of ID in the name of the person the item is addressed to.

We also have full details on our website under; www.royalmail.com/coronavirus I would recommend that you refer to this link over the coming days/weeks because any updates/changes will be posted on here first.

International Delivery
In terms of International delivery, I have copied a table of the current impact for International Deliveries below and hope this is of help to you.

Destination

Latest Update (16 March)

Iran

Effective from 09/03/20: Our carrier temporary suspended flights between Europe and Iran at short notice, but these resumed on Thursday 12 March. Mail can now be accepted but delivery delays of 2-3 days are expected.

Italy

Effective from 10/03/20: Our air carrier has cancelled all flights to Italy until further notice. In order to keep mail to Italy moving we'll be using the road network, which will result in an additional 24-48 hours transit time. There are also delivery delays on the ground.

Kuwait

Effective from 12/03/20: Our carrier has temporarily suspended flights to Kuwait until further notice. As a result, any posted mail will be held while we await for service to resume. Delivery delays can be expected until flights resume.

USA

Effective from 12/03/20: We have been operating a normal service to the USA following the partial EU travel ban announcement on 11 March by Donald Trump. However, this has now been extended to include passengers from the UK. Whilst this ban does not include freight, we use passenger aircraft to transport mail to the USA. We are urgently talking to partners to assess the impact and will advise of any changes as soon as we can.

Saudi Arabia

Effective from 13/03/20: Saudi Post has advised to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and under requirements of the government of Saudi Arabia, all letter-post, parcel-post and EMS items requiring a signature on delivery will be delivered to customers indirectly. It won't be mandatory for Saudi Post to provide written proof of delivery, delivery confirmation will be based on a code sent to the addressee’s mobile phone.

China

Effective from January 2020: As a result of reduced air capacity and emergency delivery procedures being taken to contain the virus on the ground in China, it is inevitable that customers sending items to China will experience delays to delivery. China Post are contacting the recipient by phone, before delivery, to agree a delivery preference. As result of this process, delays are to be expected for inbound international mail to China.

South Korea, Taiwan and Japan

Effective from March 2020: We continue to accept items bound for these destinations, however customers should expect delivery delays as air connections to these countries are reduced which is limiting access to these countries. We are seeking alternative solutions to maintain our service.

The impact on mail services in other countries affected by Coronavirus outbreaks can be found on our www.royalmail.com/internationalupdates"
